O how we must put ourselves aside to glorify Christ. How I desire to see through His eyes, and love with His heart...I refuse to allow my flesh to reign, to not acknowledge God, to succumb to the deceit of Satan.  God, I know is Truth. His Word, I know is Truth. What He has done is my life is proof of His Truth...Be reminded of the solid rock that we have to stand upon.

I just started reading Ezra and it totally begins with the ending of 2 Chronicles. And it was funny that I should read about God using King Cyrus of Persia to bring glory to Himself, and to bring His people back to Jerusalem....crazy. Reading about this Persian man who believed and served God was cool. It reminded me that God can do anything. He can use anyone, and He can transform anyone's heart! Sometimes I know I can become discouraged with others and myself, but I am reminded then that He is the only one who can change us, I can't do it alone. God does miracles! There is no one beyond His reach. None of us can resist Him, at least not for long. That is something I love about God! I can go no where to escape Him, and even if I become distracted or discouraged His Word is right there reminding me to repent, believe, and trust Him...good stuff!...This is rearranging my perspective, Lord How I desire to see through Your Eyes! and Love with Your Heart. How I desire to have faith to move mountains and change lives. To hide more of Your Word in my heart, so that I might not sin against You...Thank you God for Your Holy Spirit that works through us! For Your anointing to do what pleases You! For Your Love and Glory!

Another encouraging verse that I was reminded of is Joshua 1:9 "I command you be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."...what a promise we have. For sure we can do any and everything for and through Christ alone.

  • Pride

Dang it is crazy how pride can creep in...without even the slightest notion.  Pastor Chilly shared this weekend from the True[ish] series (available on itunes under ichilly) and his first point was that "I am a bad person"....man, too often i can get caught up in myself or doing good works and become prideful. I am not good...compared to Christ I am way far from it. But thankfully He knows that already, but seeks for me to become better. I will always fall short (Romans 3:23), but He has begun a work in me that He will finish (Phil 1:6). I'm trusting Him! Pride will get us no where with God. He is Good. He is Love. He is Grace, Mercy, Truth! All that we have in our lives and try to share with others comes from Him.  Jesus I am nothing, but if it pleases you, use me for your work. Break my will, and burden my heart. I can't do any of it without Him!

"Don't be selfish. Do live to make a good impression on other. Be humble thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in other too, and what they are doing." (Phil 2:3-4)

Currently Memorize: Colossians 4:2 "Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving!"

I was encouraged the other day just to be reminded of what God has blessed me with. What He has allowed me to be apart of, and the purpose He has for my life.

    My City: The D! (Detroit)

I can't believe God has brought me here! Its crazy to think about His plans for Detroit! As I began to memorize a prayer of praise from David to God, I prayed it for us and for our city and I was reminded that This is HIS Kingdom (1 Chronicles 29)! Isn't she beautiful

    My School:

I remember praying and praying for this to happen....and it really has. I am currently in my sophomore year at Wayne State University majoring in Spanish! God's got incredible vision for this campus, and I am continually praying to be used for His Glory.

    My Church Family:

If you haven't got a chruch home, come join our family! Real Church is full of the most amazing people. I am so thankful that God has brought me here! I absolutely love being a part of Genesis Nursery and serving here! I am so thankful for the family God has placed around me, and I am praying that real life change will continue to happen in everyone of us!

    My roommate (right):

Whitney dearest! A women in love with Jesus and in pursuit of more! God is giving her passion and vision for Detroit, and I can't wait to see what's next. I am praying that she will become even More hungry for God than she already is!

Also pictured: Another amazing women after God's heart, Andrea. She is one to give you a challenge because she is always standing for God and refuses to compromise! Praying that she will continue to rock those around her, and allow God to transform her more and more in His likeness!

    My Pastors:

    The Chiltons and The Reids

Two amazing couples who live for Jesus. Who seek to see others know Him, who are so determined to give God glory, who are faithful, who study God's Word like crazy and allow God to speak through them, who genuinely Love people, and who go after holiness to a higher level. I am so blessed to not only have them as my Pastors and spiritual leaders, but to have them as friends as well! God is so cool!

These are but a few people and blessings that I am thankful for...There are many more! I am praying that God will transform us all together! That we would be in eager pursuit of Him, Our Lord! Allowing Him to use us for His Glory! Love You!

    Being like Daniel contnued...

     What are you known for?

What do people know you as?

"11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the days of your predecessor he was found to have insight, intelligence, and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods. Your predecessor, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the diviners, mediums, Chaldeans, and astrologers. Your own predecessor, the king, 12 did this because Daniel, the one the king named Belteshazzar, was found to have an extraordinary spirit, knowledge and perception, and the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve problems. Therefore, summon Daniel, and he will give the interpretation.” ...

This section continues with ways in which the King Belshazzar has heard of Daniel...After reading this the following questions were posed. What are you known for? What do people think about when your name comes up in conversation? What do others see you as? How are we representing God?

Man, God has blessed us with so much! We need to turn it around and give praise to Him through our lives. I want to be known as a courageous follower of Christ. I want to be known as a servant. A joyful and encouraging person. A person of prayer. Seeking Holiness!

    Daniel is so cool.

    Being like Daniel

studying Daniel today was awesome. Its was crazy, like I'd never read it before.

These men that were brought into Babylon to be slaves were well educated men....And they had to become servants in the king's household.  That would be mega humbling, to realize God is allowing this to happen.

And yet 4 men choose to remain holy and sought to give God glory. These men were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azaniah. They stepped up and asked to be allowed a special diet so as not to be polluted by the food and wine from the king.

I wonder....why were there not more men with them? Why did not his fellow Jews desire to be pure? They had the title and served the same God, but yet they were not chosen...I wonder if some heard the call, but chose to ignore it? Did they lack the courage? Did they see the "comfortable" life they were being given while in training, and decide it would work for them?

Are we willing to step up for Christ? Are we willing to stand out like a sore thumb for our Savior? Are we chooseable and available for God's work? Are we seeking purity? Or are we settling for comfortable?

Test yourselves to see if you are still in the faith. Examine your selves daily. -2 Corinthians 13:5a

    2 Peter 1:3
3 For His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.

This blows my mind when i think about it. So not only did He choose me, and die for me, but He also gives me all that is required for life and godliness.

So everything i need to be victorious over sin! Everything i need to grow in holiness! Everything I need to be bold. Everything I need to trust Him! To believe in miracles! To have faith!...crazy.

God is amazing....think about where you'd be right now without Him...how your life would be like...

Thank you God for your grace! For Your Love! For Your amazing Truth! For Your Son Jesus!

this verse make me think of Philippians....you should read the book this week. Allow God to change you! Seek Godliness!

    REFUSE to be disobedient!!

So i just read Luke 6 and got my butt kicked! there is so much in this chapter so i would say read the whole thing and ask God to speak to you! There is something to learn for everyone ( but i guess that could be said about the entire Bible, lol.)

Luke 6:  46 "Why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and don't do the things I say? 47 I will show you what someone is like who comes to Me, hears My words, and acts on them: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn't shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears and does not act is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The river crashed against it, and immediately it collapsed. And the destruction of that house was great!"

So it goes a little something like this...

Many a times i have read this passage and each time i took it as people who are not living for God. People who are blatantly sinning an knowingly making wrong decisions. Who are living unholy lives...yada yada yada...but truth be told God showed me how this can apply to me now. Even as a "strong" Christian, one who is in love with Jesus! ... God has given me specific tasks to do, a specific vision to fulfill...which includes bold evangelism and prayer on a new level...GRRR! yet i am continually not in step with it, or sometimes i am and sometimes i'm not...this is not a game where i can flip the switch on and off...So by not doing what He has told me I am being DISOBEDIENT...SINNING!..."Why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord' and don't do the things i say?" through disobedience - sin- my foundation will weaken. If there is disobedience in one or two areas, then it is bound to be more in other areas (small or big). My foundation must be firm in Christ! I love that God continues to have grace in my life, but i HAVE to be OBEDIENT! ...dude, knowingly sinning...how does that happen? How did i allow that one to creep up in my heart?

1 Corinthians 16: 13-14 "Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave and strong. Your every action must be done with love."
2 Corinthians 13:5a "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves.."
2 Timothy 4:5 "But as for you, keep a clear head about everything. Endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

Are you knowingly sinning? REFUSE to be disobedient!

just thought i'd share verses i am memorizing
    1 Corinthians
14:1 "Pursue Love and desire spiritual gifts, and above all that you may prophesy."
15:22 "For just as in Adam all die so also in Christ all will be made alive."
16:13-14 "Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave and strong. Your every action must be done with Love."

    Lamentations 3:22-24
"Because of the Lord's Faithful Love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning, great is Your Faithfulness! I say: The Lord is my portion, therefore i will put my hope in Him."

2 Corinthians 8:9 "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: although he was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich."

1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

  • Jesus as the Remedy!

I was reading 2 Kings 5 and towards the end, after a man has been healed of leprosy, the prophet Elisha's servant Gehazi decides to overstep his boundaries and make a decision which he thought needed to be done...big mistake, because through this he was overstepping Elisha and ultimately God's decision. But thats not even the end, when Elisha asked Gehazi where he went, Gehazi lied and said he went no where....

Crazy how one sin leads to another, and another, and another.

We can't allow this to continue happening in our lives. In both big and small areas. If we are convinced about God and who He is; about Jesus being the only way, then we will step away and recognize our sin, REFUSING to go back to it and clinging to Jesus. I have to be completely convinced that Jesus is the solution (REMEDY) for everything...

Lately God has been dropping situations into my lap that i am unsure of how to respond to, but i have to believe in JESUS Confidently! It cannot be just "good advice", it should be God advice! Turning them to God as the Remedy! Because He is the solution. It may seem cheesy or even stupid (in the eyes of the world) to say to a person who is in a rough situation that Jesus is who you need in your life, or who you need to cling to and trust in , but it must be the response.  GOD is the remedy for a girl who is heartbroken because her and her boyfriend just broke up, GOD is the remedy to someone who's boyfriend just beat the crap out of them. GOD is the remedy to one who is denied for a loan, but in desperate need of money.  We must be confident in our Savior! And we must be Faithful!

I love our God so much...
